Circleville soccer edges Lady Panthers, 2-1

CIRCLEVILLE — The Miami Trace Lady Panthers soccer team opened the 2017 season with a match at Circleville Saturday, Aug. 19.

Circleville won the match, 2-1.

Circleville scored with five minutes remaining in the first half for a 1-0 halftime score.

Miami Trace’s Becca Ratliff tied the match with a penalty kick with 7:24 to play.

Circleville scored off a penalty kick with 1:21 left in the match.

For Miami Trace, Khenadi Grubb had 15 saves in goal.

“We played with a high level of intensity today,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Francis said. “I’m very excited to see what our team is capable of this season.”

Miami Trace will have its home opener Tuesday at 6:45 p.m.
