Blue Lions win track meet with L-C

The Washington Blue Lions track teams hosted a dual meet against the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs on Tuesday, April 4.

Washington won the girls’ meet with 106.5 points to 28.5 points.

The Blue Lion boys won with a team total of 89 points to 44 points for the Mustangs.

The Lady Lions won every event but one; a total of 16 of the 17 events.

Rayana Burns won four events, the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes and the high jump.

Tabby Woods won the long jump and was a member of three winning relays.

Raven Haithcock won the 100 and 300-meter hurdle races and was a member of the winning 4 x 400-meter relay.

Tahja Pettiford was a member of three winning relays, the 4 x 100, 4 x 200 and 4 x 400-meter events.

Taylor Smith won the shot put and discus throws.

Alexa Harris won the 1600 and 3200-meter running events.

Kynzie Osborne was a member of the winning 4 x 200 and 4 x 400-meter relays.

Megan Downing won the pole vault, Maddy Garrison won the 800-meter run and Hannah Patterson was a member of the winning 4 x 100-meter relay.

The Blue Lion boys team won 12 of the 17 events in the meet.

Brandon Underwood ran on three winning relays: the 4 x 200, 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 events.

Jacob Rice won the 100-meter dash and was a member of the winning 4 x 100-meter relay.

Trent Langley won the 110 and 300-meter hurdle races.

Caden Smith was a member of two winning relays, the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 events.

Josh Trimmer ran on the winning 4 x 400 and 4 x 800-meter relays.

Chris Conger was on the winning 4 x 400 and 4 x 800-meter relays.

Richie Burns ran on two winning relays, the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 events.

Caleb Rice was a member of the winning 4 x 100 and 4 x 200-meter relays.

Will Baughn won the 800-meter run; Adrian Butterbaugh placed first in the discus throw; Trevor Hicks was first in the shot put; Liam Downing and Bryce Coy tied for first in the pole vault; Conner Lane won the 3200-meter run; Ethan Smith ran on the winning 4 x 100-meter relay and Kameron Morris ran on the winning 4 x 800-meter relay.

Washington’s next track event is Saturday at Cedarville College.
