Miami Trace 8th grade girls now 4-5

The Miami Trace eighth grade girls basketball team has been busy.

On Dec. 15, the girls traveled to Hillsboro and picked up a close win, 35-32.

Gracee Stewart was the leading scorer with 12points and three assists.

Aubrey Wood had eight points and five rebounds. Ella Coe had seven and Olivia Fliehman chipped in four points.

On Dec. 19, the Panthers hosted the Washington Lady Blue Lions. The Lady Panthers won this game, 41-29.

Olivia Fliehman led the Panthers with 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists.

Keiyrra Helton had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Gracee Stewart, Aubrey Woods and Ella Coe each scored six points.

On Dec. 22, Miami Trace traveled to Clinton-Massie.The Panthers won a close back and forth game, 32-28.

Olivia Fliehman led the attack with 21 points. Gracee Stewart had four, while Aubrey Wood chipped in three. Keiyrra Helton and Ella Coe each scored a bucket.

To start out the new year, the Lady Panthers traveled to Greenfield to take on the Tigers. As was the case the first time they met, it was another back and forth game. Greenfield came out on top, 32-28.

Keiyarra Helton led in scoring with 11 points and eight rebounds. Gracee Stewart and Aubrey Wood added six points. While Olivia Fliehman chipped in three and Ella Coe two.

On Jan. 12, Chillicothe came to Miami Trace to take another close one, 28-27.

Gracee Stewart led with 13 points. Olivia Fleihman with six, Keiyarra Helton with four and Gabby McCord and Ella Coe chipped in two apiece.

The Panthers traveled to Wilmington on Jan. 17. The girls had a cold night of shooting, falling to the Hurricanes, 34-16.

Aubrey Wood had six points. Gracee Stewart with three. Addy Little, Keiyarra Helton and Gabby McCord each had two. Ella Coe chipped in a free throw.

They traveled to East Clinton on Jan. 19 to pick up a win against the Astros, 41-29.

Helton led the attack with 11 points and six rebounds.

Stewart had nine points. Little and Wood with six each. Coe had five, while Abbi Mick chipped in a basket, along with Gabby McCord.

The Lady Panthers move to 4-5 on the season. They travel down the road to take on Washington on Thursday, Jan. 26.
