EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Tori Jankoska set Michigan State’s single-game scoring record with 42 points and became the Spartans career scoring leader in a 94-75 victory over No. 11 Ohio State on Tuesday night.

She hit a career-high eight 3-pointers on a school-record 19 attempts and made 14 field goals — one shy of the program record — on 25 attempts. Jankoska tied a season-high with seven assists, grabbed six rebounds and had two steals.

Jankoska hit 5 of 6 from 3-point range and scored 19 points in the first quarter as Michigan State (13-4, 3-1 Big Ten) had its highest-scoring quarter of the season to lead 32-22.

Kiara Lewis scored six points during a 14-5 run that pulled Ohio State (14-5, 4-1) within four with 1:29 left in the half, but Hana Vesela hit a 3 and Jankoska added two more to give the Spartans a 54-41 lead at the break.

Sierra Calhoun made 1 of 2 free throws to cut Ohio State’s deficit to nine with eight minutes remaining, but Michigan State responded with a 13-3 run and the Buckeyes never again threatened.

Kelsey Mitchell, who came in averaging 23.7 points (No. 3 nationally), led Ohio State with 13 points on 4-of-18 shooting — including 1 of 7 from 3-point range. Stephanie Mavunga had nine points and 15 rebounds.

The Buckeyes had their five-game winning streak snapped.
