It was Senior Night for the Washington Lady Blue Lion soccer team Thursday as they hosted Miami Trace for an SCOL match.
On a simply beautiful early autumn evening, Miami Trace won the match, 8-0.
At the 36:37 mark of the first half, Hanna Reisinger scored with the assist to Lauren Truex.
With 34:21 to play in the first half, Truex scored with the assist to Becca Ratliff.
At the 30:59 mark, Cassidy Tolliver scored (no assist).
Miami Trace led 3-0 at the halftime break.
Early in the second half (38:44) Reisinger scored again.
Less than one minute later (37:46) Reisinger completed the hat trick (three goals in one game).
Tori Morrison scored with 30:19 to play in the match. That goal was unassisted.
Laura Capper scored with an assist to Truex with 22:10 to play in the game.
Reisinger scored her fourth goal of the match with 9:09 left on the clock. Daria Thomas had the assist.
“Everyone got playing time tonight,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Francis said. “It was definitely a team win. The girls worked really well together and they played very hard tonight.
“We’re especially excited for our shutout,” Francis said. “Our defense stayed strong all night.”
Taylor Barrett had five saves for Miami Trace.
The Lady Panthers had 45 shots on goal to five for Washington.
Aurora Wilson was in goal for Washington.
“We were glad to honor our seniors tonight,” Washington head coach Tammi Ramsey said. “We’re looking to rebuild our program and we’re continuing to develop strong, sound, smart, soccer players.”
Seniors for Washington are Kayla Kimmet and Sarah Snyder.
Kimmet has been with the program for six years, according to Coach Ramsey.
She, and Alex Trombold on the boys’ side, were members of the first seventh grade team for Washington.
Miami Trace will host Hillsboro Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Washington will host Southeastern (Ross County) Monday at 5 p.m. and Westfall Wednesday at 5 p.m.
