This one thing

Philippians 3:13 & 14, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Paul says if there is anything I do, this is it. I forget about yesterday’s failures and successes and reach forth unto those things I can do today. Yesterday’s accomplishments do not satisfy for today, we cannot live in the past. It is always a now situation. Tomorrow’s problems or victories may never come so we must spend all our energy on today’s problems and opportunities.

Yesterday is a canceled check, today is the cash on hand and tomorrow is a promissory note. Paul learned to live one day at a time.

How about you?
