New interim pastor named at Nazarene church

Washington Court House Church of the Nazarene, located at 990 State Route 41 Southwest, has a new interim pastor. The past was appointed by Southwestern Ohio Nazarene District Superintendent Dr. Douglas Van Nest.

Rev. Dan McLean has served as a layman in the church for over 30 years. He began pursuing a calling to ministry two years ago and received his minister’s license last summer. He knows what it is like to work long weeks, care for a family and still try to be a servant. He loves lay men and women, and believes in what God can do through them.

He lost his first wife to cancer, so he is acquainted with grief. He is also a scientist and a lifetime lover of God’s word. As a grandpa, McLean could not be more excited than to see your children and teens come to know this same loving living God, Jesus Christ.

The previous interim pastor, Rev. Vernon Hurles, has developed serious health issues and the church is helping him.

Come and hear McLean preach a message of the power of the love of Christ to heal your broken heart and give you peace. Everyone is valuable and precious in God’s and our sight, young or old; black, brown, white; male, female, or special; rich or poor- you will find a home of love here. We earnestly seek to help our community and to be builders for the future.
