New Holland United Methodist Women hold July meeting

The New Holland United Methodist Women held their July 11 meeting in the home of Shirley Tarbill. Ann Thompson, president, welcomed all. Pat Taylor gave the devotions, “Women Called to Lead.”

Romans 16 verse 1 and 2 were read, followed by prayer led by pastor Brian Dunham.

The secretary’s report was given by Samantha Dunham and Pat Taylor gave the treasurer’s report.

Plans for the Senior Citizen’s Day Out were discussed. It will be held at the New Holland Community Center on Thursday, Sept. 14. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon.

Samantha Dunham shared some ideas on a “Back To School Blitz.” Shirley Tarbill shared items about the reading program and added seven new books. Nancy Davis shared from the book “Just Mercy,” by Brian Stevenson. The book is available from the United Methodist Women’s reading books.

Janet Kirkpatrick presented the program, “Seasons of Salt.” The three themes were ‘Pin Drop,” “The Banquet,” and “Jesus Wept.” She presented a very interesting and informative program.

Pastor Brian Dunham closed the meeting with prayer. Delicious refreshments were served by Nancy Davis, Esther McClarren and Shirley Tarbill.

The Aug. 8 meeting will be held in the home Samantha Dunham at 2:30 p.m. Devotions will be presented by Samantha Dunham.
