NH United Methodist Women meet

Members of the New Holland United Methodist Women assembled at the church for their Aug. 4 meeting.

Ann Thompson, president, welcomed all. Pat Taylor gave devotions from Matthew 16:15. She gave a reading on “Five Little Tomatoes.”

Cheryl McFadden gave the secretary’s report. Pat Taylor gave the treasurer’s report.

Plans were made for the Annual Senior’s Day Out to be held in the New Holland School on Sept. 10, 2015. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is ask to bring a nonperishable food for the food pantry.

Food: Ann Thompson, Jeanette Somers, Doris Rowland, Jodi Kirkpatrick, Betsy McFadden, Helen Ruff, Pat Taylor and Pat Overly.

Welcome: Janet Kirkpatrick, Jane Ann Garrison,

Decorations: Cindy Thompson, Shelli Seymour, Nellie Taylor

Betsy McFadden, reading program chairman, passed out reading books. It was announced that there will not be a Turkey and Ham Dinner. The annual Galilean Service of the Capital Area South District will be held Thursday, Aug. 6 at 2805 Old Logan Road, Lancaster, Ohio. Potluck dinner will be at 6 p.m. and the program will start at 7 p.m.

Cheryl McFadden attended Mission U, United Methodist Women’s Spring Camp. She gave an outstanding program on Mission U and shared many wonderful thoughts in her program on “Happiness.” This was also the theme of Mission U.

Ann Thompson gave the closing prayer and all enjoyed refreshments served by Janet Kirkpatrick and Jane Ann Garrison.

The Sept. 1, 2015 meeting will be held at the home of Jodi Kirkpatrick at 2:30 p.m. Devotions and program will be presented by Kay Oughterson. Refreshments will be served by Jodi Kirkpatrick and Pat Overly.
