MAY 14

Washington Middle School, 500 S. Elm Street. Standard inspection. Violations/Comments: Sloppy Joe was measured below proper temperature, food fell out of temperature for 30 minutes but was brought back up to proper holding temperature.

Cherry Hill School, 720 Oakland Avenue. Standard inspection. Violations/Comments: Observed dented cans in dry storage area, observed hand washing sink without a proper waste receptacle.

Fayette Christian School, 1315 Dayton Avenue. Standard inspection. Violations/Comments: Operation satisfactory.

MAY 27

Denny’s #8631, Jeffersonville. Standard/Complaint inspection. Violations/Comments: Observed food in cooler in the middle of the grill area measuring at a temperature of 63 degrees F. Manager threw away hamburger, steak, ham and cheese from the cooler, in a separate cooler in the same location, the hash browns measured at 51 degrees and the manager threw those away. The manager was not sure of the time the food was placed in the coolers. In the front cooler located near the drink fountain machine, the lettuce and cucumbers measured at 51 degrees F. Manager threw food away, observed a plastic container of diced mixed vegetables that was expired according to the date marking on label, observed build up of food and grease residue on and under the egg grill work station, under coolers between the grills, under ice machine near the back of the kitchen, under prep sink toward back of kitchen, observed the manual sink wash area not working properly, observed stored cutting boards having food residue and stains on them, observed clean plated sitting in a sink near the food prep area where tomato sauce was stored with clean plated having tomato sauce on them, observed the wall and floors around the hand wash sink were not clean to sight or touch, floors in the kitchen area were slippery and appeared dirty, grill cleaning supply did not appear clean to sight or touch, manager informed that the coolers are scheduled to be worked on Thursday, May 28.

MAY 28

Denny’s #8631, Jeffersonville. Follow-up inspection. Violations/Comments: Switched salad bar coolers, one that was not functioning is not being used anymore, wash area compartment has been fixed, top of egg grill cleaned, cutting boards cleaned, hand washing sink area cleaned and floors and back hallway cleaned.
