Fall kick-off held for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts

The Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts fall kick-off for Fayette County was held at Heritage Memorial Church, 1867 Dayton Ave. at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29.

The Cub Scouting program is designed for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade (or 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 years of age). Parents, leaders and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting such as: fun and adventure, character development, spiritual growth, sportsmanship and fitness, family understanding, respectful relationships and personal achievement.

On Thursday scouts met Cub Master Mikki Lehr of Pack 112 of Washington C.H. and Cub Master Mark Hoppes of Pack 67 of Jeffersonville. Pack 67 meets on the second, third and fourth Thursdays of the month and Pack 112 meets on Tuesdays.

Also on Thursday, scouts met Scout Master John Pickelheimer of Troop 112 of Washington C.H. and Scout Master Glenn Rankin of Troop 67 of Jeffersonville. Boy Scouts is for boys 11 years old and older.
