A 21-year-old local man is in critical condition at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus following a motorcycle crash that occurred just after midnight Monday.

Joshua R. Teasley, 2830 Miami Trace Road, was reportedly riding his motorcycle at high speeds on Van Deman Street in Washington C.H. as he was passing another vehicle traveling in the same direction.

As he was approaching the Lakeview Avenue intersection, Teasley failed to stop, drove into a driveway and crashed through a shut garage door, according to the Washington C.H. Police Department. The motorcycle finally came to a stop after striking an interior door.

Teasley was ejected and the motorcycle came to rest on top of him, reports said.

Fayette County EMS responded to the scene and transported Teasley to Fayette County Memorial Hospital. From there, he was flown by medical helicopter to Grant due to the severity of his injuries.

Teasley was still in critical condition as of 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to Mark Hopkins, the director of media relations at OhioHealth.

The accident is still under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.
