June is ‘Adopt a Shelter Cat’ Month

June is “Adopt-A-Shelter Cat month.” Are you looking for a forever friend? Stop by the Fayette Humane Society’s Adoption and Business Center and meet your new companion.

Each spring during “kitten season,” thousands of kittens join the millions of cats already in shelters across the nation. That means that right now the Fayette Humane Society has tons of cute, cuddly kittens.

The humane society’s staff is ready to help you adopt your very first cat — or to bring home a friend for another beloved cat. We have approximately 28 kittens under our care at our adoption center.

“All of our animals has their own unique personality and love to share in their new homes. I hope everyone who is looking to adopt a new furry friend will consider adopting from our humane society,” said Bobbi Honicker, adoption coordinator.

The cats and kittens are vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, tested for FeLV/FIV, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Adoption fees for kittens are $70 and $45 for adult cats.

The Humane Society’s Adoption and Business Center is open Monday through Thursday, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. They are located at 153 S. Main St., Suite 3 in downtown Washington Court House.

The Fayette Humane Society is a non-profit (501(c)(3), volunteer organization. We receive less than 2 percent of our support from governmental organizations and therefore must rely on donations, grants and fundraising to carry out our mission. The Humane Society is the only organization in Fayette County able to respond to calls about abused and neglected and domestic animals, 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
