Scott Antique Market returns

Fayette County is hosting the second of four 2016 Scott Antique Markets at the fairgrounds this weekend with many unique vendors selling a large variety of items.

The Scott Antique Market management added summer “Extravaganzas” to their schedule of shows in Ohio. They have leased the Fayette County Fairgrounds in Washington Court House with the second of the four 2016 shows starting this weekend. Admission is free and the hours will be on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will return on the fourth weekend of August, the last weekend in September and organizers recently confirmed a 2017 show from April 28-30.

Show promoter Don Scott terms it as an “antique extravaganza at the awesome Fayette County Fairgrounds.”

“The show went magnificently well, in spite of the rain,” a Scott Antique Market recent press release said. “Many vendors sold out of merchandise, stating it was the best show they’ve ever had. When the rain started on Saturday, customers navigated into the buildings and bought like crazy. For the upcoming shows, in case of inclement weather, Scott staff will have 10,000 complimentary raincoats on hand to disperse among the exhibitors and shoppers in Washington Court House.”

Scott said during an interview Tuesday that he was extremely pleased with the show and with the Fayette County Fairgrounds. He said that the facilities are great, with wide roads for the number of visitors, plenty of space for vendors and great food vendors serving hungry patrons. The entire community is invited by Scott to join the show this weekend and to bring plenty of money as the grounds will be filled with treasures for the whole family.

“This is a buyers’ paradise, with plenty of parking and tons of vendors,” Scott said. “It is just off of U.S. Route 35, with the exit ramp leading to the grounds. Treasure hunters should have a great time picking through the many items brought by the vendors. A good bit of them are willing to negotiate and will have great quality items. If it is hot, grab a free bottle of water, if it is raining, grab a free raincoat. There are carts running from the show to the parking lot and we have about 10 restaurant vendors selling food galore. Come on out for a great time and for some great treasures.”
