Courthouse Quilters Guild recently announced that Abbie Brandt won the 2016 raffle quilt during their seventh-annual show at Southern State Community College, May 12-14.

Twelve-year-old Abbie is working on a second year of her 4-H quilting project.

This year, three Viewers’ Choice ribbons were awarded. The first place was Marlene Rankin’s Blue Rose applique.

Sue Anders’ Scarlet and Gray Starburst received the second place ribbon. The third place went to the Red Poppy applique owned by Jane Aleshire.

Courthouse Quilters thank all those who attended the quilt show and purchased raffle tickets and the 2016 guild challenge totes and purses. Their generosity enabled the guild to make donations to the Fayette County Food Pantry, My Sister’s House, S.O.C.K.S., and the 4-H Junior Fair.

Courthouse Quilters Guild meets every second Tuesday and fourth Thursday at 10 a.m. at 99 Summit Lane. For more information, contact [email protected] or (740)606-1242.
