A 38-year-old man from near Mansfield, Ohio has been indicted by a Fayette County grand jury for the alleged rape and sexual battery of a 15-year-old girl.

Joshua S. Stanley was arraigned this week in Fayette County Common Pleas Court on three counts of first-degree felony rape, three counts of third-degree felony sexual battery, and two fourth-degree felony counts of gross sexual imposition.

On April 5, 2014, Stanley, who is a truck driver, allegedly drove the 15-year-old in his truck from the Mansfield area to a restaurant at the Interstate 71/U.S. 35 intersection in Fayette County. He allegedly raped the girl inside the truck, according to reports.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol conducted a substantial and ongoing investigation that led to Stanley’s indictment, according to the Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office.

Stanley was arraigned Monday and was accompanied by his court-appointed attorney, Thomas Arrington. He pleaded not guilty to all charges. His jury trial has been set for Sept. 16.

He also filed an affidavit of indigence setting forth his assets, earnings and expenses.

Stanley is currently being held in the Fayette County Jail and Judge Steven Beathard set his bond at $100,000.
