Washington Court House—Mitchell W. Lindsey, who allegedly burglarized a local home by using a hammer, was arraigned Monday in Fayette County Common Pleas Court on one count of third-degree felony burglary.

Lindsey, 21, Washington C.H., allegedly entered a home in the 1500 block of Courtney Drive in Washington C.H. Feb. 20 by using a hammer to bust out a garage door window to gain access to the inside of the home. Lindsey then removed several televisions from the home along with some coins, according to Washington C.H. Police.

Washington C.H. Police said they received information that Lindsey and a companion had both broken into the home. Lindsey was indicted April 22 by a Fayette County grand jury for burglary and theft.

Lindsey was arrested March 31 and brought to the police station for questioning where he gave a voluntary statement to police. In the statement Lindsey reportedly admitted to the burglary and told police that it was planned over a period of two to three weeks prior to it happening, and that both he and the companion had both entered the home. Lindsey was transported to the Fayette County Jail and posted a $25,000 bail.

Lindsey is scheduled to appear June 13 for a hearing at the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas.
