A recent financial audit of the Washington Court House City School District by the Auditor of State’s office has returned a clean audit report and the board is being honored with an award for the occasion.

Washington Court House City School District’s excellent record keeping has earned it the Auditor of State Award. The Auditor of State Award is presented to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit. The board will be honored during the Monday night board meeting with the award, and will be presented to them by Becky Mullins, treasurer/CFO. Entities that receive the award meet the following criteria of a “clean” audit report:

– The entity must file timely financial reports with the Auditor of State’s office in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

– The audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies and single audit findings or questioned costs.

– The entity’s management letter contains no comments related to: ethics referrals, questioned costs less than $10,000, lack of timely report submission, reconciliation, failure to obtain a timely single audit, findings for recovery less than $100, public meetings or public records.

“The Washington Court House City School District is honored to have received the Auditor of State Award again,” a press release from the schools said. “It is a testament to the hard work, cooperation, and commitment of all district employees. It takes the involvement of everyone to ensure that we maintain strong fiscal practices. It is an honor to show the community our stewardship of its tax dollars, which is our highest priority.”

Other items include: accepting of donations, acceptance of auditor funds, acceptance of resignations and employments, rental requests, health insurance discussions and more. The meeting will be held at the district office, 306 Highland Ave., on Monday at 7 p.m.
