According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

Jan. 2

Criminal Damaging: At 3:09 a.m., Joshua Penwell reported a criminal damaging complaint. He advised that unknown persons broke the window to his daughter’s room and fled on foot. Officers were unable to locate the offender and a report was completed.

Possession of Drugs/Drug Paraphernalia: At 3:27 a.m., an officer observed a suspicious male in front of Carnegie Library. Contact was made with the male, identified as Daniel Pickering, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Pickering was arrested on the warrant and was in possession of suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The drug charges are pending.

Discharge of a Firearm in City Limits/Domestic Violence by Threats: At 12:14 p.m., officers responded to a residence in reference to a suicidal male. Contact was made with the complainant and her husband, Steve Janasov. It was determined that Janasov was intoxicated and threatened his wife and suicide. Janasov went outside and fired a handgun into the ground and entered back into the residence. Janasov was arrested and charged. The firearm was seized by officers.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle: At 10:59 p.m., Tonya Bruce reported an unauthorized use of her vehicle complaint. She advised that her ex-boyfriend, Shannon Hunt, took her vehicle without her permission. She had given him permission to drive her vehicle multiple times in the past. A report was completed and Bruce was referred to the city solicitor for possible charges.

Jan. 1

Underage Alcohol Consumption: At 1:18 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. While on contact the officers observed alcohol in plain view and neither the driver or passenger were 21-years-old or older. The passenger, Echo Flora, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and 20-years-old. Flora was arrested and charged.

Theft: At 5:35 a.m., Vicki Woods reported a theft complaint. She advised that at approximately 6 p.m. on Dec. 31, she noticed that her rear license plate on her vehicle was stolen. Eleven hours and 35 minutes later she contacted the police department to report the theft. A theft report was completed.

Dec. 31

Theft: At 9:20 a.m., Joshua Kellis reported a theft complaint. He advised that sometime overnight, unknown persons stole property from his vehicle. A theft report was completed.

Disorderly Conduct: At 3:44 p.m., officers responded to a residence in reference to a trespassing complaint. While investigating the complaint, Nicholas Buckner and another male were arrested on outstanding warrants. Buckner continued to be disorderly and was additionally charged after being given multiple warnings to cease and desist his actions.

Theft: At 5:07 p.m., Nickole Holden reported a theft complaint. She advised that sometime overnight, unknown persons stole property from her vehicle. A theft report was completed.
