The American Legion Post 25, at 1240 U.S. Route 22 West, will host its monthly free breakfast for veterans on Tuesday, April 19 from 8 to 10 a.m.

All veterans, not just members of the Legion, are encouraged to attend. The meal is free to all veterans, and non-veterans can purchase a meal for $7. Additionally, Amy Jackson, Veterans Service Officer for Fayette County, will be in attendance. Jackson will be able to assist veterans, spouses, widows or dependent children with a multitude of services, which include help with rent (to avoid an eviction), utilities (to avoid a shut off) and transportation to and from medical appointments.

The other services the Veterans Service Center can offer are VA claims assistance, VA loans (certificate of eligibility), assistance with educational benefits, and notary services. If anyone would like to know more about the services of the Veterans Service Office, stop in the American Legion on Tuesday to have breakfast and talk with Jackson.

For information about the breakfast or American Legion call them at (740) 335-4990 or the Veterans Service Office at (740) 335-1610.
