House fire in Bloomingburg

Firefighters were able to contain a fire at 120 Midland Ave. in Bloomingburg mostly to the home’s basement on Wednesday afternoon. Officials received the call about the fire that began in the basement at approximately 2:18 p.m. and it was contained by around 3:30 p.m. The home owner is Robert Johnson. No one was injured in the fire, according to Ron Huff, the BPM Joint Fire District Chief. The cause of the fire was electrical. As well as BPM, other responders were Washington C.H. Fire, Jeffersonville Fire, Pic-A-Fay Fire, Range Township Fire, Fayette County EMS, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Red Cross.
