Washington Fire Department reports

The Washington Fire Department recently responded to the following:

MAY 31

MUTUAL AIDE: 2:46 p.m., Market Street – First response for the Fayette County Life Squad.

MAY 29

VEHICLE FIRE: 12:33 p.m., Creek Road – Receive report of a vehicle fire. On arrival FD found no fire but did find the wheel cover melted. FD applied water to the left front wheel to cool the brakes and wheel. Occupant contacted a tow truck to remove the vehicle.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT: 2:12 p.m., 375 Rawling St. – Received report of a three-vehicle accident with injuries. On arrival FD found three vehicles, two with minor damage. All parties involved were checked by EMS. FD checked the vehicles and checked the scene for safety.

ALARM ACTIVATION: 3:06 p.m., 375 Glenn Avenue, Signature Healthcare of Fayette County – Received report of an alarm activation. On arrival FD found a smoke detector in a mechanical room caused the alarm. FD advised staff to service the detector and assisted them in resetting the alarm.

MAY 28

MUTUAL AIDE: 12:00 p.m., Temple Street – First response for the Fayette County Life Squad.

MISSING PERSON SEARCH: 4:42 p.m., 1057 Country Club Court – Received station tone from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in searching for a missing person. FD coordinated search efforts with officers from the Washington Court House Police Department and deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

ALARM ACTIVATION: 5:31 p.m., 99 Summit Lane, Washington Park Apartments – Received station tone from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reporting a fire alarm activation, zone 46. FD did not find any smoke or fire at the time of arrival. FD confirmed the alarm dispatch indicated on the “enunciator” panel and made contact with the resident. FD was advised there was no known problem at the time and the alarm had stopped shortly after sounding. FD checked the apartment and did not find any problems at the time of investigation. FD advised the resident to call back if there was any problem or issue later on.
