According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

May 25

Wanted Person/Drug-related charge: At 12:05 a.m. while on patrol, an officer observed several suspicious subjects in the 300 block of Worley Street. When the officer approached the subjects, one of them fled on foot. Officers began to check the area for the person and found Cody Scarberry hiding in the backyard of 902 Yeoman St. He was found to have several warrants for his arrest through the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Scarberry was also found in possession of a hypodermic needle. Scarberry was additionally charged with possession of a drug abuse instrument.

Disturbance: At 1:18 a.m., officers responded to Woody’s Cafe, located at 222 N. Main St., in reference to a male subject causing a disturbance and throwing chairs. Officers arrived and located Anthony Darthard very intoxicated and unable to care for himself. Darthard was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct.

May 24

Criminal Damaging: At 7:43 a.m., Brandi Wood reported that sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) caused damage to her vehicle. A report was taken.

Theft of Motor Vehicle: At 3:51 p.m., Michael Mitchell Sr. reported that he had parked his vehicle in the 700 block of Gregg Street. When Mitchell returned to his vehicle, it had been stolen. The investigating officer spoke with several witnesses who observed a subject take the vehicle. A report was taken and a warrant was filed.
