Commissioners approve two contracts

The Fayette County Commissioners recently approved two contracts.

One contract was entered into with Cox Paving LLC. The purpose of the contract is for the 2019 Fayette County Paving Program in the amount of $906,178.14.

The second contract was approved by the commissioners at the request of Faye Williamson, the director of the Fayette County Department of Jobs and Family Services (FCDJFS). The contract is between FCDJFS and Brandon Brown to provide home-based services. These services are for qualified Fayette County members with children up to the age of 21 to have assistance with preventing removal or with reunifying with a suitable caretaker.

The contract period is from April 29 through Dec. 31 at the rate of $13 per hour at a maximum of 40 hours per week. It will be funded by Title XX.

At the previous Fayette County Land Bank meeting, the checking account balance was accepted at $80,810.82. Advertising invoices for the Burgess Rose and Jacklyn East properties was accepted for payment at a total of $1,879.93.

The following properties are being considered for the Board of Revisions foreclosure process: 833 Millwood Ave., 824 John St., 1031 Lakeview Ave., 104 E. Paint St. and 1228 E. Paint St.

Updates were received on the following properties:

-531 E. Elm St.: client approved floor plan, documents sent to USDA for approval.

-829 Broadway St.: Foreclosure in process

-406/408 Main St.: Application to OFHA for demolition pending, no asbestos found, OFHA will consider this structure as two parcels

-1217, 1219, 1223, 1225 S. Hinde St. and 1233 S. Main St.: Foreclosures in process

-Parcel 060-021-0-00-011-00 St. Rte. 41 N.W.: Administrator to contact adjacent property owner

The West Bend Insurance coverage that would have been effective May 22 was canceled. The treasurer will pay all bills that the Fayette County Prosecutor has approved and certified as expenses of the land bank for advertising purposes, upon receipt of those bills from the prosecutor.

The next Fayette County Land Bank meeting will be held on May 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the fourth floor conference room of the County Administration Building.
