The Ohio Society of CPAs is pleased to announce that Sen. Bob Peterson, R-Sabina, has been recognized with OSCPA’s Outstanding Legislator Award for his significant efforts to improve Ohio’s business climate.

As chairman of the Senate Ways & Means Committee, Sen. Peterson championed municipal tax reform, which takes effect Jan. 1 and will result in significant compliance cost savings for Ohio taxpayers. Peterson also led the amendment process related to state tax reform during the biennial budget debate, ensuring that common sense changes were adopted. Sen. Peterson sponsored Senate Bill 2 (131st GA), tax conformity legislation that enabled taxpayers to make adjustments to 2014 returns to decrease tax liabilities and compliance costs.

“We appreciate Sen. Peterson’s willingness to consider OSCPA’s point of view on the issues,” said Scott D. Wiley, CAE, president and CEO. “Sen. Peterson understands the value of the CPA and business community perspective and has worked tirelessly to champion legislation that improves doing business in the state of Ohio.”
