The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce recently made a $1,000 donation to the Southern State Community College Foundation for the purpose of scholarships.

Proceeds from the annual chamber golf outing provided the funding and will be used to provide additional scholarships in the spring to graduating seniors of Miami Trace Schools, Washington Court House City Schools and Fayette Christian School.

“The chamber scholarships are something the board does annually. We are happy to support those who wish to further their education, and thank the supporters of our golf outing for making it possible,” said Chamber director Whitney Gentry. Last year the organization provided five scholarships in addition to the SSCC Foundation donation.
