Christmas parade set for this Sunday in WCH

The annual Christmas parade, hosted by the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, will kick off at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital and will make its way through town, turning on Hinde Street and ending at the Center for Economic Opportunity on East East Street.

“Christmas Around the World” is the theme and the nearly 80 entries will be led by this year’s parade Grand Marshal, Johnny Peters.

The public is also invited downtown starting at 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. as there will be kids’ crafts with Creative Court House in the basement of the city administration building, at 105 N. Main St. in Washington Court House. Santa will be in the lobby of the building from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. for visits with children. Parents are asked to bring cameras to take pictures of their children with Santa. Outside there will be free carriage rides from noon to 3 p.m. along with coffee, hot chocolate and popcorn.

The line-up of parade participants include Color Guard, Record Herald Citizen of the Year, American Legion Post 653, VFW 3762, Fayette Co. Sheriff’s Auxiliary, Gentle Breeze Balloon, Girl Scouts #1872, WCHO PT Cruiser, Cub Scout Pack #67, Cub Scouts #112 & Girl Scout Troop 480, Kids, Kritters ‘n Khaos, Creative Court House, Fayette Co. YMCA, LIFE Pregnancy Center, Frisch’s Big Boy, First State Bank, Gusweiler Toyota, Fayette County Republican Party, Tric’s Gymnastics, Signature Health Care, Roller Haven Fun Center, Washington HS Band, Washington Cheerleaders, Flatbroke 4×4 & Auto, Loose Moose Lodge, American Cancer – Relay for Life, Girl Scout Troops #1755/#2540, Huntington Bank, Little Caesars Pizza, The Gathering Place, St. Andrews Church, Southside Church of Christ, Heritage Memorial Church, Bible Baptist Temple, Grace United Methodist Church, National Day of Prayer, American Christian Pride, City of WCH/Main Street Fayette, Girl Scouts #2937, Ohio Ag Equipment, Rose & Lee Moore, Dragin’ Angels Car Club, Greene Countrie Towne Festival, My Sister’s House, Eddie’s Run, Knorr Family, Toys for Tots, 9Round Fitness of Washington C.H., Doug Crabbe/Janie Landley, Washington Shriners and Aladdin Shriners. “We encourage everyone to kick off the holiday in Washington Court House this Sunday,” Fayette County Chamber of Commerce President Whitney Gentry said.
