The Washington C.H. Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that allegedly occurred Wednesday evening at the Flagway gas station on Dayton Avenue.

At 7:08 p.m., an unknown white male reportedly walked into the Flagway gas station, 635 Dayton Ave., and brandished a folding knife in front of a female employee, who was behind the cash register. At the time, the offender and the employee were the only individuals inside the store, according to WPD Lt. Jon Long.

The offender allegedly said, “You know the drill,” to the employee, who then opened the cash drawer. Police said the offender then reached over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash. He then fled on foot toward the Oakland Avenue area.

Police set up a perimeter around an area near the gas station and brought in the K-9 officer to search, but they were unable to locate the offender. Police have video from the Flagway station that shows the incident from start to finish.

The offender is described as a white male in his 20s, approximately 5’9” to 6 feet tall, wearing a black Carhartt-style jacket, dark blue jeans, a camouflage mask and white gloves.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information should contact the Washington C.H. Police Department at 740-636-2370.
