A 25-year-old Washington C.H. man has been arrested for the alleged Sept. 28 robbery of Thompson’s Depot on East Elm Street.

Michael W. Mosbacker, who was already being held in the Pickaway County Jail on an unrelated charge, was served with an arrest warrant Tuesday night by the Washington C.H. Police Department.

“During the investigation, we were able to come up with enough information to reach a level of probable cause,” said Lt. Jon Long of the WPD. “An arrest warrant was obtained and Mosbacker was brought back from Pickaway County and is now incarcerated in the Fayette County Jail.”

Mosbacker, of 2021 Heritage Drive, is charged with one count of first-degree felony aggravated robbery and is being held in jail on a $50,000 bond.

On Sept. 28 at 12:47 p.m., the complainant reported a white male entered Thompson’s Depot, brandished a firearm and stole an undetermined amount of cash from the cash register, according to the WPD. The man then reportedly fled from the store on foot toward the alley beside South Side Church on South Fayette Street.

According to the WPD, he was dropped off at the store by another man.

Mosbacker has been arraigned in Washington Municipal Court and has requested a preliminary hearing. The case is also expected to go in front of a Fayette County grand jury.
