Washington High School will be presenting the Broadway musical version of Cinderella on Nov. 13, 14, 15 at the Historic Middle School Auditorium.
Unlike the three other movies and television shows that have been made over the years, this version of Cinderella has been adapted specifically for Broadway and came out for the first time in 2013. As a result, some of the songs are different, some of the characters are different and even the glass slipper has a twist to it.
Jared Joseph, the director of the show and choir teacher for Washington High School, said, “Prepare to be entertained because the entire show is hilarious. The lines and characters are funnier than the movie versions.”
When asked why Joseph chose this musical, he said, “The high school has not done a classic, popular musical for a while that connects with children as Cinderella does. At the same time, this 2013 Broadway version reaches all ages.”
Tickets will be available starting Oct. 20. They can be purchased online at wchcs.org or at the door the days of the performances.
