A 34-year-old Washington C.H. man accused of raping a girl less than 10-years-old has been indicted on four counts of first-degree felony rape and two counts of third-degree felony gross sexual imposition.

Jeffrey P. Keller, of 127 N. Oakland Ave., pleaded “not guilty” Monday to all charges during his arraignment in Fayette County Common Pleas Court.

A Fayette County grand jury’s recent indictment alleges that the sexual conduct occurred on or about July 28; between Nov. 7, 2014 and July 27, 2015; and two counts between Nov. 7, 2013 and Nov. 6, 2014. On all four counts of rape, the grand jurors specified that the victim was less than 10 years of age when the alleged incidents occurred.

Keller’s bond was set at $500,000 and he’s being held at the Fayette County Jail. His jury trial has been set for Nov. 19.

An alleged incident was originally reported on July 29 to Fayette County Children Services, which referred the victim and her mother to Children’s Hospital. A social worker at Children’s Hospital who processed the case then reported it to the Washington C.H. Police Department.

The victim reported that her mother’s live-in boyfriend sexually assaulted her, reports said.

On Sept. 16, Keller was asked to come to the police department for questioning, according to reports. He voluntarily drove to the department and was given his Miranda rights, police said.

“Once that was completed he was told about the complaint of sexual conduct with a person under the age of 13 that was filed against him,” according to the police report. “The defendant admitted to having sexual conduct with the person under the age of 13.”

Keller was then placed under arrest, charged with rape and was taken to the Fayette County Jail.
