A registered sex offender accused of being in possession of child pornography at his Bloomingburg home is scheduled to appear for a hearing this week in Washington C.H. Municipal Court.

Larry M. Pollard, 50, has been charged with pandering obscenity involving a minor, a third-degree felony; illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material, a fourth-degree felony; and pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, a third-degree felony.

After receiving information from an individual who claimed he saw child pornography images on Pollard’s computer, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office detectives served a search warrant at Pollard’s residence at 23 Wayne St. in Bloomingburg on Nov. 9.

Pollard was not home at the time the search warrant was executed, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Multiple computers and electronic devices were confiscated during the search.

As the investigation continued, images depicting underage children in various stages of nudity and/or involved in sex acts were discovered on the electronic devices, according to authorities. The sheriff’s office received assistance from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in identifying the images. Electronics and additional pieces of evidence have been submitted to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s crime lab for further analysis.

A warrant was issued for Pollard’s arrest on Nov. 13. On Nov. 21, he was located and arrested at a residence on Willard Street by officers from the Washington Police Department.

Pollard is registered as a sexually-oriented offender due to a gross sexual imposition/pandering conviction in 2003. He was released from prison on Dec. 16, 2008.
