The Give Back Crew, consisting of adult advocates from the FACT group and the Fayette County Board of DD Community First Division, continue their “Give Backs” to the community.

On Oct. 16, the Fayette County Board of DD held its third-annual Business Awards Night. The recipients of the November Give Backs played a big part to make the evening wonderful.

Grace Community Church provided a beautiful venue for the Business Awards Night. This event is held annually to honor employers within the community that partner with FCBDD. This night celebrates people with disabilities who are employed within the community, participate in a vocational training program or volunteer at different locations throughout the community.

Donova Stickley and Kevin Evans from Grace Community Church went above and beyond to make the event a success. The two graciously donated their time to run the sound and video systems without hesitation, even sticking around after the event to help clean up. Thank you Donova and Kevin!

Channel 3’s David Woolever and Harry Wright also assisted with making the event a memorable one for all. David and Harry took the time to meet with some of the employees to allow them to share what work means to them, or why work is important to them. They brought their cameras to FCBDD and created a video which was shared at the banquet. David donated his time and talent editing and adding music to create an empowering and informative video for all to enjoy.

Pat Catan’s also went above and beyond to help ensure that this event was one to remember. Brett Joseph and his staff at Pat Catan’s did a lot of footwork and went out of their way to make sure that everything needed was available to make the venue elegant and inviting. Fayette County is very fortunate to have Pat Catan’s in this community and the FACT group from FCBDD appreciates the support that is provided by this business.
