According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

Nov. 12

Improperly Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle: At 12:03 a.m. during contact on a routine traffic stop, an officer found the driver of the motor vehicle to have a loaded firearm concealed on is person. The driver, identified as Nicholas A. Lewellyn, was arrested for the offense.

Nov. 11

Theft: At 10:46 a.m., Brian Williams reported that while his vehicle was parked at Cyrus Auto on West Court Street, unknown person(s) removed the rear license plate.

Theft: At 6:34 p.m., an employee of Court House Corner on Washington Avenue reported that a female concealed merchandise and departed without paying for the item. The female, identified as April Lee Hawkins, was charged with the listed offense.

Nov. 10

Theft: At 2:47 p.m., Jeffrey Forsythe reported that an unknown person stole a check and attempted to cash it at a local convenience store.

Theft: At 4:08 p.m., Suzette McFadden reported that unknown person(s) obtained her Huntington Bank card and made several purchases at Walmart.

Nov. 9

Theft: At 4:07 p.m., an employee of Rent 2 Own reported that a known female rented merchandise and then pawned the item at a local pawn shop.

Nov. 8

Theft: At 12:29 a.m., employees of Walmart reported that they observed a male exit the store with a cart full of merchandise that had not been purchased. The male was located and identified as Michael Newsome. The property was retrieved by store employees and Newsome was arrested for the listed offense.

Disorderly Conduct: At 10:49 a.m., officers responded to McDonald’s on South Elm Street in reference to a female who had been in the restroom for an extended period of time and was not responding to employees. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female, identified as Kasey R. Harper, who during the contact was verbally aggressive and yelling obscenities. She was warned to cease her disruptive behavior but failed to do so. Harper was arrested for the listed offense.

Burglary: At 4:47 p.m., Mary Bock reported that a known male and female came into her residence uninvited and removed several items of property. The male and female were located a short distance away and were identified as Rusty D. Penwell and Timothie K.L. Penwell. Both were arrested for the offense and property was recovered.

Nov. 7

Theft: At 8:07 a.m., Jeffery Williamson reported that unknown person(s) obtained his credit card information and made purchases without his permission.
