The Washington Shrine Club is inviting veterans to join them for a free meal on Nov. 10 to to honor their service.

Starting at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 7 p.m., veterans and their guests can visit the American Legion Post 25 in Washington C.H. to enjoy a delicious meal. For veterans, the meal is absolutely free and for their guests or family, meals are $7 each. The dinner is open to all veterans, not just American Legion members.

“We really want to show our appreciation to the veterans of our country,” Keith Lippert, Washington Shrine Club president, said. “We want to encourage all veterans to take the time to come join us for this meal. Bring your family as well and enjoy some food together while we celebrate and thank you for your service.”

The Washington Shriners have been holding the dinner for veterans since 2013, when Ben Jamison was president. Lippert said he is glad they continue to hold this dinner and he feels it is important to honor these local men and women.

“These are the forefathers of our country,” Lippert said. “We have to support these people who have risked their lives to protect us. We feel it is a big thank you to these ladies and gentleman who have sacrificed all to protect our country. This is an event we have been doing with the American Legion for a few years. The American Legion helps us and we help them.”

For more information about the event, contact Lippert or any other Washington Shrine Club member.
