The Good Hope Lions Club recently accepted a new member into the organization. New Lion Josh Anderson was formerly inducted into the local and international club by Ohio Lions Past Council Chair and Good Hope Lion Don Robinette.

Past council chair Don explained the history of Lions Clubs International, the various projects the organization undertakes and the importance of each club member in participating in those projects. Lion Josh was sponsored by Lion Ron Weade.

The Good Hope Lions Club raises funds through their semi-annual Pancake and Sausage Dinner held the second Saturday of each November and March, and the annual Candy Store held each mid-November to Christmas Eve.

Proceeds from these activities are returned to the community in the form of scholarships, donations to local non-profit organizations, Diabetes Research and Awareness, Pilot Dogs and many other worthwhile causes.

The club meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Wayne Township Hall in Good Hope.
