Do you have any interest in becoming a volunteer? A coalition of charities, foundations and corporations estimated that in 2016 the dollar value for the work contributed by volunteers averaged $24.14 across the U.S.

This writer believes that it is volunteers who keep America great [along with a free, investigative press, but that’s a different story]. Decide what fields interest you, then offer one or more of your skills to local agencies—they may be ecstatic to hear from you.

Fulton Terry has conducted nondenominational Wednesday night church services for more than three decades at the nursing home, Court House Manor, and also leads a Tuesday night service at its smaller affiliate, St. Catherine’s Manor.
