According to reports, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:

Oct. 22

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Grace Street on a domestic dispute. The dispute was between two household members but there were no threats or assault.

Drug Abuse/Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments: Sheriff’s deputies responded to State Route 41 Northwest on a possible overdose. The female was transported by EMS to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.

Oct. 21

Traffic Crash: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the TA truck stop on a report of a crash. A male subject got out of his truck and failed to set the parking brake. The truck then rolled forward unoccupied and struck another truck, causing damage. No injuries were reported.

Disorderly Conduct: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 800 block of Staunton-Sugar Grove Road in reference to a noise complaint. While deputies were in the area of the House of Pain, they were able to hear the noise. A summons was issued to the owner of the House of Pain, Rita Shiltz.

Oct. 20

Breaking and Entering/Theft: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 3000 block of State Route 41 North on a breaking and entering and theft complaint. Unknown person(s) stole several items.

Burglary/Theft: Alicia Zimmerman of Washington C.H. reported that during the daytime hours, unknown persons forced entry to her residence and removed several items.

Assault: Ashley B. Hudson of Wilmington reported she was assaulted by a known person. Prosecution was declined at the time of the report.

Oct. 19

Theft: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 4000 block of Cisco Road in reference to a theft complaint. A money order was sent to an unknown subject thought to be a moving company. It was later determined to be a scam and the company did not exist. The investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 18

Theft: Benjamin C. Everetts of Washington C.H. reported a known person removed an item from his residence. The known person was contacted and the item was returned.

Burglary: Kyle Leisure of Washington C.H. reported a male and a female entered an apartment at 812 Delaware St. Deputies made contact with the tenant of the apartment, who advised the female had permission to be in the apartment.

Menacing: Patricia Coil of Washington C.H. reported being threatened by her neighbor, Jason Bice of Washington C.H. Bice was arrested in the incident.

Receiving Stolen Property: Kenneth Kelly of Washington C.H. reported locating his stolen trailer at Moor-Acre Lake. Deputies made contact and confirmed the trailer was stolen. the trailer was returned to the owner.

Oct. 17

Assist Other Agency: Sheriff’s deputies assisted the Madison County Sheriff’s Office with a combative suspect. Jeffery L. May of Sandusky was taken into custody.

Protection Order Service: A protection order was served in the jail on a respondent.

Traffic Crash: Brian Melody of Ames, Iowa reported he struck a deer on US Route 62 South near Barger Road.

Unruly: Miami Trace High School reported a known juvenile ran away from school. Deputies responded and charges were filed on the juvenile.

Drug Abuse/Drug Abuse Instruments: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Pearson Octa Road on a male subject possibly under the influence. A deputy made contact and a hypodermic syringe was located.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to West Lancaster Road on a domestic incident. Upon arrival, all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats of violence had occurred.

Oct. 16

Inducing Panic: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a bomb threat made against Miami Trace Local Schools.

Theft/Obstructing Official Business: Tommy Hilfiger reported unknown person(s) entered the business, obtained property and departed without making payment. Deputies made contact with suspects and located the stolen merchandise. Marquan Green of Columbus was arrested and charged in the offense.

Traffic Crash: Jackson Glover of Dover was traveling from a parking space at Flying J truck stop and struck a parked semi on the lot. No injuries were reported.

Drug Abuse/Driving Under the Influence: Sheriff’s deputies responded to State Route 41 near Bloomingburg New Holland Road on a report of a vehicle driving recklessly. Deputies initiated a stop on the vehicle after numerous violations were observed. The driver appeared to be under the influence. During the investigation, drugs of abuse were located. John Johnson, Jr. of Washington C.H. was arrested and charged in the matter.

Burglary/Theft: Donald Harris of Bloomingburg reported a known person entered his residence several times and stole his motor vehicle.

Oct. 15

Fire: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Sheley Road on a house fire. Jefferson Township Fire responded along with other assisting agencies to extinguish the fire.

Child Endangering: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a complaint of child endangering. A child was seen outside with now adults around. No criminal charges were filed.

Menacing: John J. Scott of Washington C.H. reported a known person threatened to damage his personal property. Prosecution was declined at the time of the report.

Theft: David Brown of Jeffersonville reported an unknown removed items from his residence.

Theft/Criminal Trespass/Criminal Damaging: Garry K. Matthews of Jeffersonville reported sometime overnight that unknown persons trespassed on his property, damaged and entered his motor vehicle, and removed several items.

Oct. 14

Protection Order Violation: Corey A. Jarrell of New Holland was arrested after a sheriff’s deputy witnessed a violation of a protection order.

Telephone Harassment: Karen L. Murphy of Washington C.H. reported she received an unwanted text message from a known person.

Theft: Angela Dalton of Washington C.H. reported an unknown person took money from her juvenile child.
