The Fayette County Special Olympics program at Fayette County DD would like to thank the Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge for its recent donation.

The Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge #468 has held spaghetti suppers along with silent auctions as a fundraiser for Special Olympics since 2007. Along with this project, part of the money goes to the Grand Lodge of Ohio that helps sponsor Special Olympics events held at the Jesse Owens Stadium, The Ohio State University.

Freemason’s of Ohio have contributed over $4 million to this charity in the past year. Along with this, proceeds raised are also donated to the local Special Olympics program which stays in the Fayette County community.

Donations received are used for the various expenses of the Fayette County Special Olympics program including uniforms, equipment, tournaments, and travel expenses of the various athletic teams. Currently there are five sports offered: softball (JV and varsity teams), basketball (school-age and adult teams), cheerleading, track and field and bowling, with the last three for school age and adult athletes.
