22-year-old Bloomingburg man killed in two-vehicle accident

A 22-year-old Bloomingburg man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday on U.S. 22 at Stone Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Jacob Anders, was eastbound on U.S. 22 at 3:26 p.m. Friday when it slowed to make a left turn onto Stone Road in Clinton County. A 2007 Volkswagon, driven by Tyler Stewart, 20, of Leesburg, reportedly failed to slow and struck the motorcycle in the rear.

Both vehicles ran off the right side of the road and Anders was ejected from the motorcycle, according to the press release.

Anders was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the patrol.

There were no injuries reported to Stewart, according to the release. Stewart was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
