Three arrested during drug raid

The service of a drug-related search warrant at a Washington C.H. residence Saturday evening resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and cash, according to police.

At 7:11 p.m., officers from the Washington Police Department entered the home at 627 E. Market St. as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking at that residence, according to WPD Chief Brian Hottinger. Several individuals were found inside the residence and three were charged with drug-related offenses.

Jesse A. Black, aka “Hank,” of Dayton, was charged tampering with evidence, a third degree-felony; possession of drugs (heroin), a fifth-degree felony; trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony; possession of drugs (cocaine), a fifth-degree felony; and illegal use of food stamps, a fifth-degree felony.

Rebecca J. Hedges, of Washington C.H., was charged with possession of drugs (cocaine), a fifth-degree felony; trafficking in drugs (Schedule I, II), a fourth-degree felony; illegal use of food stamps, a fifth-degree felony; tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; and possession of drugs (heroin), a fifth-degree felony.

Desiree D. Coonrod was charged with permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony, and a probation violation.

Along with the discovery of crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana, a variety of drug paraphernalia was located, according to Hottinger.

“There was no incident of resisting and no one was injured,” Hottinger said. “It was a successful operation.”
