According to reports, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:

Aug. 5

Criminal Trespass: Jeffrey A. Reed of Washington C.H. reported a known person was seen trespassing on his property.

Aug. 4

Endangering Children: An employee of the McDonald’s in Jeffersonville reported a child was left at the business unattended.

Casualty: Nathan J. Langley of Washington C.H. reported he was injured when he accidentally discharged a firearm.

Criminal Damaging/Theft: Michael S. Fraley of Washington C.H. reported that during the overnight hours, unknown person(s) forced entry to his motor vehicle, removing several items.

Aug. 3

Traffic Crash: A two-car private property crash was reported on the parking lot of the Tanger Outlet Mall. Trudy Briede was backing from a parking space and struck a parked vehicle occupied by Darren Wade.

Traffic Crash: A crash was reported on Jupiter Street at State Street in Jeffersonville. Preston D. Smith, of Columbus, Ga., was cited for failure to control.

Domestic Dispute: Two household members reported a verbal dispute on Jamison Road.

Domestic Dispute: Units responded to 62 South on a reported verbal dispute between family members.

Theft: An employee of Carrington Mortgage Services reported a theft from a vacant property.

Theft: Employees of DSW reported an unknown male removed merchandise from the business without paying for the items.

Illegal Conveyance: Jail staff recovered narcotics inside the Fayette County Jail while on duty.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to US 22 on a domestic incident. Upon arrival, all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats of violence had occurred.

Aug. 2

Assault: Jason W. Horton of Washington C.H. reported he was assaulted by a known person. Prosecution was declined at the time of the report.

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported on US Route 35 at the Palmer Road exit. The at-fault vehicle struck a light post and remains unknown.

Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication: A broken down car was reported. Upon contact with the male subject, an odor of alcohol was detected and the man, later identified as Carlos G. Ayala of Sabina, refused to exit the cruiser when asked. Ayala was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication.

Burglary/Theft: James E. Miller of Bloomingburg reported that sometime within the past few days, unknown person(s) entered his garage and removed several items.

Burglary/Theft: Margaret E. Copley of Bloomingburg reported during the daytime hours that known persons entered the residence and removed several items.

Theft: Tommy Hilfiger reported unknown person(s) entered the business, obtained merchandise and departed without making payment.

Burglary/Theft: Trafford Ream of Mt. Sterling reported that unknown person(s) removed medication from his residence.

Aug. 1

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported on Stafford Road near Thomas Road. Jacob Shackleford of Highland was transported by squad to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported on Stafford Road near Patton Road. Brooke Everhart of Leesburg was cited for failure to control.

Telephone Harassment: Chad A. Card of Jeffersonville reported he received several threatening text messages from an unknown person.

July 31

Burglary/Theft: Amber Cline of Washington C.H. reported unknown person(s) entered her grandfather’s residence and removed items from inside.

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported on I-71 near the 69 mile post. The report indicates Amy L. Hingson, of Griffin, Ga., struck debris in the roadway.

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported on US 22 East near State Route 753. The report indicates Jonah J. Meehan of Washington C.H. struck a canine in the roadway.

July 30

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported on I-71 near the 72 mile post. Erin Combs of Jeffersonville struck tire debris in the roadway.

Theft: Kimberly Brown of Chillicothe reported that unknown person(s) entered her vehicle and removed items from inside.

July 29

Traffic Crash: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle accident that occurred on Danville Road near West Road. Tyler Horney, of Mt. Sterling, was traveling northbound on Danville Road when he lost control of his vehicle. Horney’s vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, striking a culvert and then overturning. Horney fled the scene but was later found by deputies. No injuries were reported. Horney was cited for failure to control.

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported near 2361 US Route 62. Gary Wilson, of Hillsboro, struck a low hanging power line.

July 28

Property Damage: Heath Smith of Washington C.H. reported that while at the Country Club, his vehicle was damaged by a golf ball.

Traffic Crash: A 17-year-old juvenile of Carrboro, NC was traveling west on US 35 and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway into the ditch and overturned. No injuries were reported. A citation was issued for failure to control and no operator’s license.

Traffic Crash: A two-car crash was reported on State Route 41 and Hickory Lane. Cierra M. Weaver, of London, was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.

July 27

Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle/Misuse of Credit Card: Zackery A. Merritt of Jeffersonville reported a known person took his vehicle without his permission and used his debit/credit card.

Traffic Crash: A one-car crash was reported on State Route 41 near Lampe Road. Brooke E. Coil of Washington C.H. was transported by squad to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Coil was cited for failure to control and driving under suspension.

Domestic Dispute: Deputies responded to a domestic incident in the 3000 block of Washington Waterloo Road. Upon arrival, deputies located parties involved and determined there was no assault or threat of violence.

Traffic Crash: Robert Daniel of Indianapolis, Ind. was traveling east on State Route 435. Daniel failed to observe a vehicle slowing in traffic and struck the rear of the vehicle. Occupants of the second vehicle were transported to a medical facility for treatment of injuries. Daniel was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead.

Menacing: Davin P. Cummings reported he was threatened by two unknown people.

July 26

Assault: Deputies responded to the Fayette County Jail on a reported assault between two inmates. Deputies did not observe signs of assault and the alleged victim declined to pursue criminal charges.

Gross Sexual Imposition: Fayette County Children Services reported a sex offense involving a juvenile. The investigation is pending.

Traffic Crash: George Parrish of Washington C.H. was traveling southbound on Jamison Road at US Route 22. Parrish failed to yield to a vehicle traveling westbound on US 22 operated by Chloe Conklin of Greenfield. Conklin was transported to the hospital for treatment and Parrish was cited in the incident.

Traffic Crash: A motorcycle crash was reported on Old US Route 35 and State Route 435. Logan S. Robinson of Washington C.H. was cited for failure to control.

Domestic Violence: Deputies responded to a possible domestic violence incident on Edgefield Road in Jeffersonville. Upon arrival, a juvenile reported being assaulted by a family member. Kenneth Reed of Jeffersonville was arrested and charged in the matter.
