According to reports, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:

July 22

Traffic Crash: Samantha J. Mollette of Orient reported that while at Pettit’s Grocery in Bloomingburg, an unknown person backed into her parked motor vehicle.

Traffic Crash: A two-car motor vehicle crash was reported on Snowhill Road at US Route 62 South. Joshua Sanderson of Washington C.H. was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Burglary/Theft: Danny P. Minshall of New Holland reported that sometime within the past six days, unknown person forced entry into his residence and removed an item.

Aggravated Menacing: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Cross Street in Bloomingburg on an aggravated menacing complaint. A male subject was reportedly playing Pokemon Go outside when he was confronted by an unknown person with a gun. The male subject said that the unknown person never threatened anyone, but did show his gun. The investigation is ongoing.

Traffic Crash: Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Route 41 at Parrot Station Road. Conner Haines, 19, of Hillsboro, attempted to cross State Route 41 westbound at Parrott Station Road and failed to observe a southbound vehicle on 41. Both vehicles received disabling damage and were towed from the scene. There were no injuries. Haines was cited for failure to yield.

Traffic Crash: Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the Tanger Outlet Mall. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. A juvenile driver was cited for marked lanes violation.

Traffic Crash: Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on US Route 62 near Colonial Court. Joshua Downing, 34, was southbound on US 62 when he failed to observe a vehicle slowing in traffic. No injuries were reported. Downing was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Domestic Violence: Deputies were dispatched to 1400 Grace St. on the report of an assault with injury. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the caller who advised that she and a family member were arguing and that the family member threw a metal object at her and struck her in the head, causing an injury. The family member, identified as Lindi Giffin, was located and transported to the Fayette County Jail where she was charged for domestic violence.

July 21

Telephone Harassment: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Fairview Avenue on a telephone harassment complaint. Reports indicate a female had been receiving non-threatening text messages from a known person on Facebook. The female was referred to the city solicitor.

Menacing: Donnell Y. Hurles of Washington C.H. reported she was threatened by a known person.

Theft: Amy L. Hart of Jeffersonville reported a known person removed personal property from her residence without permission.

Traffic Crash: Deputies responded to Prairie Road near Hays Road to a one-vehicle crash. Kara Foy, 19, of Washington C.H., was southbound on Prairie Road when she swerved to miss an animal in the roadway. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and into a cornfield, where it received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. There were no injuries. Foy was cited for failure to control.

Theft: Sheriff’s deputies responded to South Fayette Street on a theft complaint. Reports indicated a known male subject went into the Fayette County Health Department and stole a cell phone. The phone was located and returned to the owner. Timothy Brown was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail.

Domestic Violence/Theft/Drug Abuse: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Clyburn Avenue on a domestic violence complaint. Reports indicate a male subject caused physical harm to a female and then stole her checkbook. Luke Pollock was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail, where deputies found marijuana on his person.

Domestic Violence: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Fayette County Fairgrounds on a domestic violence complaint between a male and a female. Eric Bent was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail.

July 20

Theft: Vernon Havens of Washington C.H. reported that sometime within the past few days, an unknown person obtained his personal property from another who had permission to use it.

Domestic Dispute: A verbal dispute was reported between two family members from a Camp Grove Road resident.

Casualty: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Fayette County Fairgrounds in reference to an injury. Reports indicate a male subject injured his arm while riding the mechanical bull.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Maywood Court in reference to a domestic dispute. Reports indicate that a male and female got into an argument, but that neither party was verbally or physically assaulted.

Protection Order: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Fayette County Jail on a protection order service.

Illegal Conveyance/Drug Abuse: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Fayette County Jail on a complaint of an inmate that brought narcotics into the facility. Deputies recovered the narcotics for further testing.

July 19

Theft: Thurman Willis of Washington C.H. reported unknown person(s) obtained his credit card information and attempted to wire money via Western Union, but the attempt was unsuccessful.

Traffic Crash: Richard Oesterle of Washington C.H. reported that during the overnight hours, an unknown person struck a utility box near his residence and drove through his lawn.

Criminal Damaging: Christina M. Duncan of Washington C.H. reported that during the overnight hours, person(s) unknown damaged her motor vehicle.

Found Property: Ronald McCullah of Washington C.H. reported he located a push mower on the porch of a residence that does not belong to him. Deputies recovered the mower and placed it into property for safekeeping.

Assault: Eric Brown of Washington C.H. reported that while in an argument with a neighbor, he was assaulted. Deshna Stinson of Washington C.H. was arrested and charged in the matter.

Traffic Crash: Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at Love’s Truck Stop. Stan Tobias of Beaverton, Mich. turned into the lot of Love’s and the trailer struck a parked 2012 Freightliner. The parked semi received heavy damage. There were no injuries. Tobias was cited for failure to control.

Theft: Samuel Jones of Jamestown reported personal property was stolen while he was at Speedway on Allen Road.

Drug Abuse: Deputies and EMS responded to a residence on US Route 22 on a report of a possible overdose. Upon their arrival, the patient was treated and transported to the hospital.

July 18

Theft: Nancy Farmer of Washington C.H. reported unknown person(s) removed property from her residence.

Criminal Damaging: Charles Armbrust of Washington C.H. reported that sometime during the overnight hours, unknown person(s) damaged his mailbox.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic dispute complaint on Miami Trace Road in Wayne Township. Reports indicated that a man and women got into an argument, but no one was assaulted or threatened.

Taking the Identity of Another: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Ghormley Road in Perry Township in reference to a complaint of identity theft. Reports indicate that an unknown person(s) used her identity to open nine different credit cards. The investigation is still pending.

July 17

Driving Under Suspension/Drug Abuse: Deputies responded to Harmony Road at the 35 overpass to a complaint of a vehicle in the roadway. During the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license. After further investigation, it was determined that there were narcotics in the vehicle. Robert Glispie was charged for both offenses and ordered to appear in court.

Traffic Crash: A three-car motor vehicle crash was reported on US Route 22 East near Johnson Road. Hayden K. Higginbotham of Circleville was cited for failure to stay in marked lanes.

Dog at Large: Angela D. Manns of Washington C.H. reported a canine at-large near her residence.

Assault: A fight was reported between several inmates in the Fayette County Jail. Harvey L. Lowry, Kyle L. Johnson and Zachary D. Milstead were all charged in the offense.

Domestic Dispute: A dispute between family members was reported at a Washington Waterloo Road address.

July 16

Traffic Crash: A one-vehicle crash was reported on State Route 38 near Brown Street. Mark Dean of Washington C.H. was transported by squad to a local area hospital for medical treatment.

Domestic Dispute: Deputies responded to a Miami Trace Road address on a reported dispute between a male and female.

Traffic Crash: Deputies responded to a one-vehicle traffic crash on State Route 753 near Wolfe Road. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the driver of a 2004 Buick was traveling northbound on 753 and lost control on a curve, and traveled off the right side of the roadway, causing damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported. The driver, identified as Terry Byrd of Columbus, was cited for failure to control.

July 15

Traffic Crash/OVI: Sheriff’s deputies located a tractor trailer that ran off the roadway and struck a mailbox on Prairie Road within Union Township. Neil Troyer of Charleston, Ill. was found to be under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest for OVI and failure to control. He was transported to the Fayette County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance in the area of State Route 753 in Union Township. Bobby Bushey of Washington C.H. was intoxicated and involved in a verbal altercation. Bushey was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and was transported to the Fayette County Jail.

Drug Abuse: Deputies responded to a possible drug overdose on Upper Jamestown Road. Upon arrival, a male subject was found unresponsive in his vehicle and Narcan was administered. The subject was transported by EMS. The incident is under investigation.

Criminal Trespass: Deputies responded to a trespass complaint on Snowhill Road. The complainant advised that while she was away and her juvenile child was home, two known persons entered her residence without her permission. The incident is under investigation.
