Police Incidents


According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

July 27

Theft: At 8:01 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Florence Street in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, Rachel E. Hester, who advised that person(s) unknown removed a lawn mower from the property. A theft report was taken on the victim’s behalf.

Burglary: At 10:48 p.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Leesburg Avenue (Murphy U.S.A. gas station) in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with employees who advised that person(s) unknown departed the business without paying for gas. A theft report was taken on the victim’s behalf.

July 26

Breaking & Entering/Criminal Damaging: At 7:09 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of East Elm Street (Thompson’s Depot) in reference to a robbery complaint. Officers made contact with Michael W. Thompson, who advised that unknown person(s) caused damage to the business and gained entry, although no merchandise was taken. A report was taken on the complainant’s behalf.

Burglary: At 9:37 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Leesburg Avenue in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, Mariah L. Smith, who advised that unknown person(s) entered the residence and removed property. A burglary report was taken on the victim’s behalf.

Theft: At 5:59 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Highland Avenue (Marathon gas station) in reference to a theft of a motor vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, Ronald S. Mosier, who advised that unknown person(s) took his car and departed the area. A theft report was taken on the victim’s behalf.

July 24

Theft/Receiving Stolen Property: At 9:54 a.m., officers made contact with the victim, Curtis M. Dailey, who advised that unknown person(s) stole his bank card and made fraudulent purchases. A theft report was taken on the victim’s behalf.
