Poultry competitions at the 2017 Fayette County Junior Fair included a round of shows with market chickens, turkeys and show ducks.
In showmanship, Addyson Butts was awarded overall chicken showman after placing first in her showmanship class. Corben Hastings took overall winner in the turkey showmanship. In the duck and geese showmanship competition, Dylan Page won both the duck and geese showmanship shows.
The chicken market meat pen of three competition had nine separate classes with 138 exhibitors total. In class one, Cline Hunter placed first in the chicken meat pen of three show. In the second class Linzy Turley placed first. In class three, Kennedy McDaniel was first place in the class, and in class four Olivia Flerchinger placed first.
Class five winner first place winner was Jonah Goddard and in class six Jenna Goddard placed first. The seventh class first place winner was Brayden Smith and the class eight first place winner was Austin Boedeker. In class nine the first place winner was Adam Ginn.
In the turkey market show, there were four classes with 22 turkey exhibitors. The grand champion was Drew Black and Andrew Amore was awarded reserve grand champion.
In the duck show, Rachael Campbell took first place in a six-person class. Dylan Page won the geese show overall and was the only exhibitor in that show.
Rounding out the poultry shows for the day was the poultry best of show competition. Rachael Campbell was awarded reserve champion with a show duck and Drew Black was awarded overall best of show with a chicken.
