Once again it is time for local tomato crop varieties to be tasted and evaluated at the Fayette County Farmers Market.
Join us this Saturday as we provide cut portions of several tomato varieties to our patrons for their evaluation. Find a favorite? Then we will tell you who has them for sale. Typical garden variety tomatoes and heirloom tomatoes will both be offered. The tasting event runs from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Also available at Saturday’s market will be sweet corn, watermelons, Crenshaws, honeydew, cantaloupe, fresh frozen whole chickens, pork cuts, farm fresh eggs, homemade breads and rolls, local honey, green beans, new potatoes, tomatoes (slicing and cherry), cucumbers, zucchini, summer, butternut, and spaghetti squashes, assorted baked goods, hand crafted items, and jams and jellies.
The Market is open every Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to noon and is located in the municipal parking lot on the corner of S. Main and E. East street and as always SNAP EBT food benefit cards and credit/debit cards are accepted.
