‘We’ll see you at the fair’

Look to the Record-Herald next week for complete coverage of the 138th Fayette County Fair.

From the opening ceremony and crowning of the new fair queen Sunday evening until the final day of the fair Saturday, July 22, our talented staff will provide show results, photos, human interest stories, videos and much more. A wide range of content will be available every day on our website, www.recordherald.com, and in our daily print edition.

Our team of reporters, Ashley Bunton, Chris Hoppes and Martin Graham, as well as Editor Ryan Carter, will have a consistent presence every single day on the fairgrounds.

“Fair week is undoubtedly one of the most significant weeks in Fayette County every year,” said Carter. “Our staff is very excited to get out there and bring the community the fair coverage you deserve. Although our editorial team always does a great job during fair week, I believe our coverage this year will be more dynamic than ever before. Feel free to reach out to any member of our team with a question, concern or suggestion.

In addition to the strong coverage, Record-Herald General Manager Katie Bottorff announced other exciting opportunities we’re offering throughout fair week.

“The Record-Herald’s booth (located at the back gate between the sales arena and the junior fair horse barn) will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, for the selling of subscriptions,” said Bottorff. “We are offering a fair week subscription special!”

Exclusively during fair week, purchase a 52-week Record-Herald subscription for only $89. With this subscription, NEW SUBSCRIBERS will receive a FREE Record-Herald-themed umbrella or American flag kit, while supplies last. The kit includes the flag, pole, pole top and mounting bracket.

“The 89 dollar fair special rate is available to both new and current subscribers,” said Bottorff.

The offer expires July 24.

Also at the R-H booth, there will be opportunities for the youth participating in the fair to have their pictures taken with their awards, ribbons and trophies. These photos will be taken from 2-4 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Free editions of the Record-Herald will be available Tuesday-Saturday at the camping area, the R-H booth and just outside the Fine Arts Building. The daily fair sponsors for these editions are: Tuesday – Berger Health System, Wednesday – Kirk’s Furniture, Thursday – Southern State Community College, Friday – Great Clips, and Saturday – Gusweiler GM.

“I want to wish everyone a fun and exciting fair week,” said Bottorff. “Also thank you to all of our advertisers and our daily fair sponsors. We’ll see you at the fair!”
