According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

May 21

Theft: Michael Ater reported that person(s) unknown removed his self-propelled Toro push mower from behind his residence sometime over the past four days.

Possessing Drug Abuse Instrument/Criminal Trespass: While patrolling the Kroger lot, officers observed Rusty Penwell, Jr. near the picnic tables at the side of the building. Upon observing officers, Penwell discarded a syringe and entered Kroger. Penwell was apprehended inside and charged with trespassing and possessing a drug abuse instrument.

Menacing: Tony Milam reported that a known male subject came to his house and attempted to fight him. Milam retreated into his house and called the police department. Milam was referred to the city solicitor for filing of charges.

Trafficking In or Illegal Use of Food Stamp Card: While investigating the theft of a firearm, officers had contact with Jesse Black at a residence on North Main Street. Black was found to be in possession of a food stamp card that did not belong to him. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with the offense.

May 20

Criminal Damaging: At 10:50 a.m., Rachel McGraw reported that sometime within the past few days, unknown person(s) damaged both front tires on her vehicle.

Assault: At 10:10 p.m., Adam Dennis reported that while at a residence on North Main Street, a known male assaulted him by punching him in the mouth.

Aggravated Menacing: At 11:23 p.m., a woman reported that while at her residence, a known male made threats of serious physical harm to her.
