A multi-agency investigation into alleged drug trafficking resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old Fayette County man Wednesday.

Following a drug transaction, Joshua Hudson was arrested by Fayette County Sheriff’s Office detectives, Washington C.H. Police Department officers, and agents from the US 23 Major Crimes Task Force. During a traffic stop, Hudson was found to be in possession of a substance “presumptively identified as heroin,” according to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth.

After his arrest, a search warrant was obtained and served at Hudson’s home on Peabody Avenue in Washington C.H. During the search, drug paraphernalia items and firearms were seized from the home.

An adult female, an elementary-age child and an infant were present in the residence during the execution of the search warrant, according to Stanforth.

The vehicle Hudson was driving at the time of his arrest was seized and secured by detectives. A warrant to search the vehicle reportedly resulted in the discovery of additional drugs and paraphernalia items inside.

Hudson is incarcerated in the Fayette County Jail, charged with trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony, and weapons under disability, a third-degree felony. The case will be presented to Fayette County Prosecutor Jess Weade for review and the consideration of additional charges in the matter.
