A 25-year-old Milledgeville man has died from injuries he suffered in a one-vehicle crash late Wednesday on State Route 729 near the West Fork Road intersection in Jasper Township.

At approximately 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, a 2003 Ford F-series pickup truck driven by Daniel Hiser was traveling east on State Route 729 and failed to negotiate a curve, said Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth. Hiser lost control of the vehicle and went off the left side of the roadway, re-crossed the center line and then traveled off the right side before the vehicle struck a ditch.

The vehicle rolled and Hiser was partially ejected, according to Stanforth. Hiser was airlifted from the crash scene by Med-Flight to the Kettering Medical Center and he later died from injuries he sustained.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

In addition to the sheriff’s office, agencies responding to the scene included Fayette County EMS and the Sabina Fire Department. Members of the Sheriff’s Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to assist with the investigation.
